There has been scorching debate all over the world whether online casinos around the world should be legalized, especially in the United States. Kentucky has shown unfettered efforts to sequester overseas domains that are actually owned by online casino companies in order to protect its citizens. However, it may seem that the state is giving obvious biased preference towards horse racing.

A report from the Associated Press indicates that the legislators in Kentucky are requesting the regulation of certain firms that will allow the residents of the state to bet on horse racing events on the Internet. The proposal was passed via the Senate State and Local Government Committee without a hitch. Under the provision, it requires the certification from the Advance Deposit House which has already signed the legislation and will push through towards the Senate. Horse racing may be entirely different from online casinos, but it is under the same context. If the state is, in a way, looking for viable profit and revenues, and at the same time seeking the protection of its citizens from problem gambling brought by any online sports betting casino sites then it would be better to have regulations passed as opposed to banning the “category” of Internet gambling while favoring the other.

The Associated Press added that the Kentucky lawmakers have tackled the apprehensions made by the supporters of the horse racing enterprise, stating that the State of Kentucky is falling behind other jurisdictions that have generated millions of profits and revenues through other gaming means, which include online casinos and mobile gaming.

Groups interested in planning to have their own online casino operations and gambling sites might as well do their research and find out what players may have to say; perhaps ask experts and rookies alike for their opinions on which type of website the market really needs as of the moment. A well-known online casino information site, Casinomeister.com, has recently launched a poll that will assess the types of players and their interests on the gambling websites, as well as the operators of the different sites dominating the worldwide web. The poll will allow the players to vote on multiple questions, significantly those related to newly-established sites for online casinos and gambling.

The player poll has been received with enthusiasm by several supporters, particularly online casino players who have years of experience. US players, however, had a hard time joining the poll considering that they have been denied legal access to gambling at online casinos within US jurisdiction. There is evidence in the poll that shows negative reactions towards the US government by its citizens. At any rate, the poll showed 59.67 percent of the voters see the importance of acquiring reliable information from credible forums.

On the game offering, 44.68 percent favor the ever-popular signup bonuses, while 29.79 percent are not in favor with the signup bonus after initial deposits. 24.40 percent are motivated to play an online casino game depending on the software. On the other hand, 21.28 percent are more enticed by those game themes that they particularly like to play. For slot machine games, 17.02 percent are more inclined towards a 25-50x offer for Free Spins. For new operators of online casinos, it is good news that 31.91 percent are trying out new Internet gambling sites regularly. However, 27.66 are very cautious with new online sports betting and casino establishments, and refuse to give their money to wager them.

The long anticipated bill, that made a lot of state residences cross their fingers, has been rejected as the story on the regulation of online gambling in New Jersey continues. Aside from a lot of sad online gambling enthusiasts, it simply means that the tragic economic tale of the state will endure for the next months or even years. After being postponed for several weeks, the rejection of the bill was brought last Thursday. Governor Chris Christie’s veto on the bill that would have put New Jersey in history books disappointed several supporters of online casinos and gambling. Although the decisions is no different from the other decisions made on the same issue, a lot of groups who are backing for the legalization of Internet gambling, particularly poker are still shocked and dismayed.

Governor Christie’s bowing for the popular choice of his political party, the Republicans is simply a confirmation of how unyielding the conservatives are towards an industry that will provide the economy, state or federal, millions of dollars of revenues from taxes and jobs for its residents. Governor Christie’s rationale when he vetoed the bill has to do with the federal level having to challenge the provisions of the bill if ever it gets the chance to be legalized. Although it was stipulated in the vetoed bill that only New Jersey residents can wager in licensed online casinos, conflicting position appears since the federal law prohibits processing of financial transactions from online casino by financial institutions.

Now that New Jersey pulled out from the race to become the first ever state to legislate online casinos, poker sites and internet gambling, perhaps it is now left to California, Florida or Iowa’s race on who will beat the billion dollar industry through their state approved bills. It is a shame that casino gambling games online are still left for the unlicensed operators for US residents to play with instead of having their own.

Several pro-gambling groups are opposing state legislation of Internet gambling; desiring more to have it approved at federal level. While waiting, US residents will just have to hand in their money to unlicensed gambling sites abroad.

Already existing in an unregulated environment but with revenues flowing overseas, Iowan online casinos and poker systems are now being proposed to be legislated at the state-level. Iowa already has a few gambling proposals submitted for legislation, including that of sports betting online casino and poker. If the proposal was to be approved, it will be a “win-win” condition for both the gambler s and the non-gamblers of the state since they will benefit from the tax revenues and the state social programming support. Moreover, the new rules will finally bridge the long-time gap between the Iowan horse breeders and the Altoona racetrack on how the profits of the racing competition will be divided by the two stakeholders.

There are also a few issues being proposed that aren’t taken lightly by some of the state residents. First, the online casino and poker will only be allowed to be played in legitimate terrestrial gambling venues for gamblers who are at least 21 years of age. However, these players at online casinos and poker sites should be registered and their game time is limited. Their special accounts which are registered in any of the seventeen land-based gambling sites controlled by the state of Iowa will consist of passwords and a system that stops after a certain period of time played.

It is expected that several discussions concerning the content of the proposal will definitely occur, US Digital Gaming is already pursuing a contract with the Iowan Internet poker system. The system will also be under the regulation of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. For now, Iowa will just be one of the states seeking legislation of online casinos, poker and sports betting which is deemed illegal by the whole nation.

It seems that more and more states are seeking legislation for the online casino industry, could it be possible that it is only a matter of time before the whole country give the industry full regulation?

The Bulgarian administration suggestions to ban gambling advertisements were opposed by both land-based and online casino operators this week. They have made their objects known during an advisory process this week, requesting equality in any new laws affecting companies. The standard newspaper reported that the operators are disgruntled that the government proposed to carry out licensing in the new Gambling Act plan and that they proposed to prohibit gambling advertisements. They feel this new suggestion is discriminatory; the full banning of land-based and casino gambling games online advertisements in the newest draft should not be allowed.

If banning of these advertisements is deemed necessary, it is more acceptable to view gambling in the same as smoking, simply cautioning and warning the potential dangers that go with gambling carried on their commercials, as opposed to absolute bans. European Gaming and Amusement Federation (EUROMAT) has also requested for impartial treatment for land –based and online casinos and their gambling facilities across EU, pointing out that the gaming sector in Europe has generated more than Euro 21 billion in 2009 and is responsible directly to more than 280,000 jobs. Clearly the online casino and gambling industry provides a large amount of money for the European economy and it would be wise to treat them fairly so that operators will be encouraged to further develop their business.

EUROMAT President, Annette Kok said that decisions done at EU level are with undeniable facts about how their zone operates, how many they employ and their dedication to provide gambling services like online casinos and betting rooms in a responsible way. Kok added that with a tentative government report on remote gambling ready to be accepted by the European Commission, the next year or two is quite grave.

The independent region of Aragon approved a new betting law that encourages online casino gambling amidst motions to treat the regulation of Internet gambling in Spain at a more shared national level. The Spanish government has finally acceded to license online casinos last year despite successions of irresolute measures at the provincial levels in the past years.

In late 2010, the then Minister of Economy Elena Salgado stated that the initial stages of a new administration had been achieved. It is projected—now that online gambling has been legalized—the industry could bring in at least 200 million Euros per year in government treasury revenue. In fact, there are two levels on the taxation bill—one for online sports betting and the other is for online casino gambling. Taxes from online casinos have been based on gross revenue. But in the case of online sports betting, it is implied that the rate should be an even ten percent of the total revenue.

This has caught the ire of trade associations and operators who have cautioned of the risk it poses to millions of Euros in sponsorships. They say it could restrict the capability of the operators to compete efficiently. The trade associations of EGBA, RGA and AEDAPI have all proposed for more consultation on the sports betting tax imposition issue. On the other hand, it was understood that the legislations will establish a commission that would control and prohibit the citizens of Spain to avail unrestricted online casinos and inhibiting ads from unsanctioned operatives. Furthermore, the new government is bent on enacting the bill to protect Spanish proprietors by imposing a disciplinary charge for unsanctioned operatives that are trying to access the conglomerate while remaining within the bounds of EU law. However, the plan will be subject for approval by the European Commission.

The efforts of Senator Harry Reid to legalize online casino gambling on the federal level in the United States are not in vain. For a fact, it has gained the support of a highly prominent and powerful trading body for gambling in the US. The AGA or American Gaming Association is said to act in behalf of at least 440 establishments of land-based gambling companies that yield more than half of the billions earned by the gambling industry for the United States within only a year.

The AGA made it clear that their change of view is simply attributed to the fact that they believe the said bill would set a ground to protect the interests of the customers as well as its control over the industry.

Frank Fahrekopf, the AGA chief executive officer, said that the present legislation in relation to gambling in online casinos currently supplies enough protection to the players as well as the online casino operators. These players and operators are still subject to being scammed and being victimized online, not to mention all other types of deception. These entities are also prone to cheating and other behavior that are unlawful and illegitimate. He said that by establishing a concrete framework that would strengthen the grounds for preventing illegal pursuits, at least 15 million American online players will be protected strongly.

AGA, in the past, have been keeping an impartial stance toward respecting the myriad points of view of its members but has presently decided to make a significant development by choosing to support the bill that Senator Reid has been proposing – a bill seeking the legalization of online casinos in the federal level. With the AGA backing Senator Reid, it may be rather easy for the bill to be passed, which can be a very good news for American casino gaming enthusiasts.

It seems like the skies of online casino operators residing in the UK have just gotten gloomier. Currently, online casinos that are based in the UK are now taxed by law at 15% of their gross income. In turn, other online operators in the area were compelled to move their operations to some place else. There are those who have already made the move, but some have remained despite the imposed 15% tax rule for online casino operators.

However, other opinions coming from other online casino operators emerge saying the UK government should not look at online gambling operators of both online and offshore casinos in the same light. They should even give incentives to those who remained since they create jobs for UK citizens and pay certain facilities available in the country.

It is very true that most of the online casino operators within the UK are not happy, though, they are grateful that the authorities have given them licenses to operate legally.

Could it be that previous online gambling operators would have to look at offshore places to transfer their operations just to avoid the 15% tax imposed on them? Though some online gambling operators are fine with the 15% tax on their shoulders, they are quite expecting some changes to occur. And if no changes whatsoever happens, then they would have to force themselves to move out of the UK zone.

Online casinos and gambling operations are one of the proud contributors to the country through taxes and have contributed millions in the previous years. A lot of online casinos in the gambling industry in the UK have been in a struggle about the tax levy imposed on their companies.

The trend of online casinos operating in the UK zone may see a downward movement when other online gambling operators look for better places to continue their operations.

Like baby steps, the legislation of online Internet gambling in the United States is moving. Nevertheless, it is progress and this could very well be the ignition to legalize gambling in the US. This is absolutely sure and analysts have said that the online casinos in the state will have a better year after 2010 than the previous years. The bill concerning Internet gambling ended with a victorious 29 to 5 vote in the state from the senate; one more step and New Jersey will be embracing online gambling legally.

The passing of the bill will then enable to open up the opportunity for Internet gambling companies to operate certain gambling activities including Internet chance games such as lotto and table games like poker. If the state overturns the ban, horse racing and other sports betting will then be legal and can be operated cleanly.

New Jersey is now on its way to be crowned as the first state to ever legalize online gambling and regulate online casino operations in the United States. Moreover, it’s also the first state to ever benefit from taxing online casinos on an intrastate level. The press out of Atlantic City commented on the progress and added that the soon-to-happen legislation of Internet gambling in the state will challenge the federal government’s policies on the remote gambling industry. Despite the federal government’s ban across state lines, the bill will still allow visitors and residents of New Jersey to participate in Internet gambling activities.

The bill was sponsored and fought for to pass senate by Democrat Senator Raymond Lesniak. He altered the bill’s original structure to also allow players from outside the country to play in the online casinos sponsored by Atlantic City and not only for the residents of the States. However, players and residents located outside of New Jersey will remain deprived of the opportunity until their respective states follow the steps New Jersey has taken.

The popularity and convenience of mobile gambling has surely taken a leap within a few months of observation and we have online casinos to share the proof. The sales from mobile gambling and the downloads of betting applications have risen, therefore, making the availability of these software change dramatically. The companies operating on the mobile gambling department would make it available even more with new applications being developed and platforms to launch it from.

One successful online gambling site to date who has also ventured into the mobile gambling sector is Sportsbook.com, having a mobile version of their online site and other applications available for the gamblers at heart. Sportsbook.com mobile is one of the firsts betting applications available in the
mobile gambling industry. They are also having a promo of giving away $10 bet money upon registration and as refunds if ever a bet or wager is lost.

The convenience of mobile gambling gives other people different ways on how to face stress in our daily life. Punters can just whip out their mobile phone if ever they are stuck in traffic and spend idle time winning some money. Instead of sleeping in the opera, one can just discreetly bet on NFL or NHL with a push of a button. Never will one have a boring or annoying day if one has casino games and gambling applications in his mobile phone. It takes away the dull moments of living.

It seems that mobile gambling enthusiasts are excited to get more from what’s currently available for the mobile platform. With new and improved gambling games being developed for the mobile platform, online casino sites are coming up with better ways to retain their regular clients, though, Internet gamblers are most often the ones being hooked on the mobile gambling sport.
